Reading to your class

Today you and I "read" the Eric Carle book "Brown bear brown bear what do you see?", "down by the bay", and "Alice the Fairy". The book I had intended for us to read was "Baby Beluga" but in the heat of the moment, you wound out choosing these books instead!  

Your class thought the way we read "Brown Bear" was so funny. Surprisingly, no one else knew "Down by the Bay!"

Banana Bread Recipe

Mama's Banana Bread Recipe

This morning we found the best Banana bread recipe. It was moist and delicious!

Here it is:

Ingredients:

4 over-ripe bananas (my catalyst for baking banana bread)

1/3 cup melted butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg, beaten (with just a fork, let's not get crazy)

1 tablespoon vanilla

1 tablespoon baking soda

Pinch of salt

1 1/2 cups flour

Preheat oven to 350

Combine smashed bananas w butter. 

Add sugar, egg, vanilla. Stir. 

Add baking soda and salt.  Stir. 

Add flour. 

Spray pan, pour. 

Bake 50 minutes then check. If not done, add 10 mins. 

Glaze: butter and brown sugar. (Combine to buttery consistency and spread over 20 min cooled cake, let sit in warm oven for 2 minutes then eat)

Braces and the "crickets"

So last week Marianna's sister Caitlyn told Charlotte she was getting braces on her teeth because Her teeth were "crooked". 

Well today, Charlotte tells Henry  that when she becomes a big girl, her teeth will have crickets in them, and the braces will help the crickets to get out of her teeth. Lol

Building forts and doing math

These are definitely your favourite thingsto do right now.  Oh!  And playdough!!!

"She Is So Precious"

Today schools were cancelled because of the snow. But as a special bonus, you woke up with a raging case of pinkeye and you had to stay home with grandma and grandpa. 

I asked grandma how today was and she shook her head and said "you know Jackie, Charlotte is just precious on her own". 

I said "yup,She's precious on your own or with people she is just a great kid". 

And she said "yes. She is just absolutely precious". 

You are, its true.  The sweetest child. Most helpful loving caring selfless. Beautiful on the inside and the out. Always trusting, always forgiving. Quick to shed real tears.
