Merry Christmas

My sweet Charlotte,

We had a wonderful Christmas eve. You will notice in the pictures of us making cookies that you were not in them. 

Because you were doing your very favourite thing in the whole world, playing with Katie. You guys both exchanged Christmas gifts. you gave Katie a frozen Barbie and gave her brother Nathan On a plane.

Fall Vacation

Staunton River State Park!!

Every year we go on a vacation in the fall. This year because of Rubys play, we're going a little bit later than usual. When daddy told me we were going camping late December, I told him he was crazy. 

However, it has completely surprised me by turning out to be one of my favourite vacations ever. The weather is high 60s and 70s. Everyone is the for the most part, getting along- without a television!! (Miracle!!)

We have had hot chocolate, while sitting together by the warm fire, listening to Little Women, The Grinch, and "'twas the night before Christmas". 

There were some bumps in the road.. Like when I decided to wash all the clothes by hand... In a cooler... With shampoo... Thanks to a kind forest ranger, that problem was solved also. 

You have had a wonderful time playing Barbies, play-Doh, and hanging out with Grandpa J.  

When we were trying to get the walkie talkies to work, I kept trying to get you to say "Rodger.. Daddy.  Over".  You were upset that I kept calling you Rodger and refused to say it. :)

You were actually surprisingly good and patient during this whole process. Turns out, Henry is the candy fiend, not you!!

Camp Out!!!!

This month has been the "Ruby show" for sure. The play has consumed all of my time. But.... It has had some Charlotte perks. 

1- you love Grace, your theatre practice friend

2- on opening night, you had a "camp out" with your best friend Katie!  (Henry came also) which you loooved. 

3- you know all of Les mis now, and can sing your favorite songs, which ate "look down" and "do you hear the people sing?"
